This is not just an interesting question but a valid and serious concern. If we want to prepare all our students for success in the 21st century there is a need to redesign the curricula to integrate key subject themes, learning and innovation skills, information, media and technology skills and life and career skills. Students need to "learn to change the world". This is a campaign at the Harvard Graduate School of Education is running to "change the world through education by expanding opportunity and improving outcomes". We could do same.
You are on point Antoinette. We too can make a difference by joining the movement of educators who commit to raise learning outcomes across all levels of our education system. Let us transcend the limitations of our borders to do so.
